The campaign "Discover the Struvė Geodetic Arc!" is being extended!

New promotion period – July 1, 2023 – August 31, 2023.
We will be accepting participant cards until September 17, 2023.
The winners will be announced in September 2023.
The Directorate of Protected Areas of Aukštaitija invites you to participate in the international tourism campaign "Discover the Struvė Geodetic Arc!" and get acquainted with the scientific achievements of the 19th-20th centuries. We invite everyone who wants to study the history of science, expand their knowledge and is ready to try and explore unknown places while visiting Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland!
Participants must have a PARTICIPANT FLYER-card, which they can pick up:Vilnius District Tourism Information Center,At the Anykščiai Regional Park Group Visitor Center of the Aukštaitija Protected Areas Directorate,On the treetop path,Rokiškis Tourism and Business Center,At the Jėkabpils Tourist Information Center, In Krustpils Castle, In the Old Tartu Observatory, Väike-maarja Museum,At the Jyväskylä Tourist Information Center.
During the promotion period, you must visit at least 2 Struve Geodetic Arc points in different countries that are included in the route, take a photo at the point, and collect a stamp at the specified locations.
The participant must submit a completed traveler's card with at least 2 visited checkpoints in different countries in a convenient way: by sending it by e-mail:lajutakas@saugoma.lt(scanned or clearly photographed) or left at the place of stamping.
Prizes await the participants of the campaign.
