We will start the hike from the Anykščiai Regional Park Visitor Center, where we will learn about the natural and cultural values of this park. We will find out what “kasagoras” are, what their significance is for the park’s ecosystem, why they are called that and where this name came from. After that, we will start our journey towards the Janydžiai Geomorphological Reserve, where we will be able to explore the impressive hills carved out by the melting of the last glacier. During the hike, we will descend the steep slopes of the hills and reach the Anykšta Stream, where we will see the ruins of old dams, testifying to the past of this region and the connection between man and nature. Later, we will travel along the narrow-gauge railway tracks, which will add historical charm to the hike, and nearby we will see the Žažumbris oak tree – a true natural monument. After a long journey, we will reach a campsite, where we can rest and have a snack. During the hike, you will also find various tasks and entertainment that will help you learn more about the nature and history of this region, as well as promote teamwork and activity.
