Hi ! My name is Mary Nahapetyan, i‘m volunteering in Anykschiai Regional Park, i‘d like to share with you about my 8 amazing days which i spent in Cepkeliai-Dzukija National PAN Park from 16 to 23 of June. I must say that Dukija has a wonderful nature as Anykschiai but there‘s everything is in the middle of the forest, it was so wild and perfect.
The goal of my visit was to work with other volunteers, see what they are doing, how they are living and of course to see the beauty of Dzūkija.
We were doing reconstruction work of the tourist route, cutting grass and our free time we were visited Čepkeliai which is nature reservation, we wrere visited also in Merkinė town, we‘ve been to the small Hill of Crosses. The first crosses appeared here after Second World War, when resistance of Lithuanian people started. We‘ve been also in Catholic church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
So and about our weekend! it was full, because we were preparing for camping, canoeing with 9 other volunteers from different parks!
We made a camping three days near the lake in Marcinkonys, one of the nicer places to stay and in the last day we did canoeing in Ūla river (20kl), in spite of bad weather we had a wodearful days full of joy an fun!
