Anykščiai Regional Park has its own product brand!
Protected areas attract travelers with their natural and cultural values, but for a good travel experience, the quality and authentic offer of products and services is equally important: accommodation, guide services, traditional crafts, etc.
In order to draw travelers' attention to products and services that promote the knowledge of cultural and natural heritage, the continuation of traditional crafts or cultural values, the Anykščiai Regional Park product mark has been created. This mark is one of the ways to encourage visitors to protected areas to purchase services and products from local residents. The protected area product mark will help to identify that the service is provided or the product is made by a local resident. The holder of the mark will primarily be someone who lives or operates in the protected area, and whose activities do not violate protected values, and has products characteristic of the ethnographic region. In this way, the aim is to promote the local economy, create more favorable conditions for those living in protected areas, and promote partnership between local residents and the protected area administration. The Anykščiai Regional Park product mark will be awarded to goods and services produced in this area, provided in accordance with such criteria as authenticity, preservation of wildlife and benefits for human health, adaptability to small groups of visitors, benefits for the local community, etc. The label will be awarded based on submitted applications and after assessing compliance with the established criteria.
This label is one of the measures to promote sustainable tourism. It is intended for local producers, artisans, tourism service providers and other local residents who contribute to the development of sustainable tourism in Lithuania's protected areas through their activities.
The protected area product label will be easily recognizable at the national level, as the label's symbol "bird" is common to all local products from all Lithuanian protected areas. It will help travelers discover, and local people promote, projects and services from their communities that meet the core values of sustainable development.
Products and services marked with the Anykščiai Regional Park product mark will be promoted at the Anykščiai Regional Park Visitor Center, on the website www.anyksciuparkas.lt, in media, and publications. The interactive maps.lt map "For Slow Travelers" will provide contact details of the users of the mark and a brief description of the services provided and products manufactured.
