The best way to explore the Anykščiai grove, sung by Antanas Baranauskas, and to immerse yourself in the sounds, smells, and sights described by the poet is to hike the Šventoji educational trail. This trail, winding for 4.7 kilometers along this wonderful Aukštaitija river, provides an opportunity to get to know the beauty and life of the grove up close. There are 17 stops along the trail that help reveal the secrets of the Anykščiai grove landscape reserve. At each stop, you will learn the answers to interesting questions: what settles in the groves, how erosion occurs in nature, can life develop on a dead substrate, what the Šlavė outcrop hides, and how old furrows are formed. You will also get to know the vegetation of this region, learn where hops, common sedges, barberries grow, and what makes the steppe meadow so special. At the end of the educational trail, we are greeted by the large Puntukas, an imposing rock worth visiting, and the mysterious Treetop Trail, which allows us to walk through the forest tops and see the landscape from a new perspective. This is a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature and discover the Anykščiai grove at first sight, following the poet's words.
