Opening of the Stori educational trail

The Directorate of Protected Areas of Aukštaitija is pleased to announce that a new 1.2 km long Storių cognitive trail will be opened in the village of Storių in Anykščiai Regional Park. It leads to one of the 18 points of the Struvė Geodetic Arc in Lithuania, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We hope that the trail will become another tourist attraction and will be included in international tourism routes, as the Struvė Geodetic Arc unites as many as 10 countries.

We invite youthis year June 21st5:00 PM to the opening event of the Story Trailand an excursion that will take place in the village of Storii, Anykščiai district.

The Story Trail was built within the framework of the 2014–2020 Interreg VA Latvia-Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Project No. LLI-477 "Creation of the International Tourist Route "Struve Geodetic Arc""/ STRUVE

The goal of the project is to strengthen the development of cognitive tourism, increase the number of visitors and extend the duration of their visits to the regions by providing a variety of tourism opportunities.

The project's lead partner is Jėkabpils Municipality, Latvia.

Project partner – Aukštaitija Protected Areas Directorate, Lithuania.

Project start and end: 2020-07-01 – 2023-06-30

The total project budget is 850.5 thousand euros.

European Regional Development Fund funding – EUR 750 thousand.
