About the squirrel track

This is an opportunity to walk in the Anykščiai grove, taking the shorter route – following the described stops (You will find as many as 20 of them!) or longer - using smart technologies (by installing the #walk15 app and QR Code Reader on your mobile phone).

The Squirrel Trail starts at the Treetop Trail Information Center. Why Squirrels, and do you know what is depicted on the coat of arms of Anykščiai Regional Park? SQUIRREL and the Lantern of Happiness. Why? Anykščiai Regional Park seeks to preserve the most valuable natural and cultural complexes and objects of the Anykščiai region. This is a great opportunity, with the onset of spring and the weather warming up, not only to move as much as possible, walk in the awakening nature, but also to get information about interesting cultural and natural objects.

To begin the approximately 1.5-2 hour journey, you will need to pick up a description of the stops (for the darker route) or install an app on your mobile phone (for the longer route). Traveling from the Treetop Walk towards the protected trees of the Holy Oaks, you will find the entire Voverė trail marked with wooden stakes.

If you choose the virtual Voverės trail (one of five trails created in the city of Anykščiai), you will find it in the #walk15 app, where after choosing the desired route (trails – Lithuania – Anykščiai – Voverės trail) and starting to travel along it, you will be able to count your steps. According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, a person needs to walk about 10,000 steps every day. There is also a QR Code on the wooden stakes marking the Voverės trail.

Have a nice trip to the squirrel's house!
